Current Alert Level LEVEL1
The alert level for COVID-19 at Iwate University will be set as "LEVEL 1" based on current situation of COVID-19.

ALERT LEVEL "LEVEL 1"

No infected person on campus, or infected person on campus but the risk of spreading infection is low

Classes (Lecture, Lab, Practice, Seminar)

  • Classes including face-to-face classes can be conducted while paying close attention to preventing the spread of infection.
  • If it is necessary to take measures to prevent the spread of infection, the classes will be conducted remotely.
  • Face-to-face classes in the second semester, 2020 will be conducted after paying sufficient attention to the prevention of infection based on the guidelines established by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. However, if it is difficult to take infection control measures, such as difficulty in avoiding 3 Cs, remote classes will be conducted.
  • If an infected person is confirmed on campus, the university will restrict access to the campus during disinfection if necessary. Face-to face classes will not be conducted during that period.

【Students】Coming to Campus

  • Students can come to the campus as usual, paying close attention to preventing the spread of infection.
  • When entering the facilities, pay attention to your health condition and try to prevent infection by washing your hands and wearing a mask.
  • If an infected person is confirmed on campus, the university will restrict access to the campus if necessary.

【Students】Club Activities / Activities other than classes

  • The University will decide whether it is possible or not based on the spread of infection and contents of each activity.
  • It is pointed out that there are many young people infected nationwide and the spread of infection through eating out and drinking party at restaurants, etc. Therefore, avoid the risk of infection through party, group trips, events, training camps, etc.

Research Activities

  • Research activities in the laboratory can be conducted while paying close attention to preventing the spread of infection.

Working Form for Faculty and Staff

  • Faculty and staff can come to work on campus as usual, paying close attention to preventing the spread of infection.
  • If it is necessary to take measures to prevent the spread of infection, work in shifts or work at home will be conducted.

Meetings

  • Face-to-face meetings can be held while paying close attention to preventing the spread of infection.
  • If it is necessary to take measures to prevent the spread of infection, remote meetings can be held
  • The number of the participants from outside of Iwate University will be kept at a minimum, and face-to-face meetings should carefully be considered.

Holding and participating in events both Inside and Outside of University

  • You can hold and/or participate in events while paying close attention to preventing the spread of infection.
  • The University will consider on-campus events held by persons or groups outside of Iwate University individually based on the content of the event, the status of the facility used, the necessity of holding the event at the facility, and the measure of prevention.
  • If an infected person is confirmed on campus, the university will restrict holding and participating in events if necessary.

Visiting other areas (other prefectures)

  • You can have business trips or visit other places considering the government requests and restrictions based on status of destination.
  • Visiting prefectures under state of emergency is prohibited, as a rule.
  • When you need to have business trip or visit other places, face-to-face meetings and/or remote conferences should carefully be considered. Please thoroughly take infection control measures, and avoid going to places where infection control measures are inadequate and activities with a high risk of infection.
  • It is not allowed to travel abroad if the area's infectious disease risk level or risk information level of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is 2 or higher.
  • If an infected person is confirmed on campus, the university will restrict access to the campus if necessary.

Other

  • If infected person is confirmed on campus, the university will evacuate students from campus as needed, and restrict access to the campus during disinfection.
  • The University will take the utmost consideration to prevent infection by implementing the measures in "Guidelines for Corresponding to New Coronavirus Infectious Diseases at Universities" prepared by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
  • When doing some actives, thoroughly implement basic infection control measures such as hand washing, cough etiquette, and avoiding 3 Cs environment as much as possible.
